Trick-r-Treat and Tailgating

Here are some pics from trick-r-treat and last weekends tailgating out at LSU. It was lots of fun but it ended awful with LSU losing to Bama!! BOOOOO!! (Steve was happy) Kaleb was a LSU fan and Jacob was a Bama fan with a black eye and bloody nose! Noah didn't have a costume. We looked all over for a Mickey costume but couldn't find one to fit him so he has on a Mickey shirt.
We walked across campus to watch the football players and band walk down to the stadium. Kaleb's feet were hurting so Steve carried him on his shoulders for a while. Sweet Daddy!

We Survived!!

Well, Gustav didn't blow us away!! We had some really strong winds and the electricity was out for 5 and a half days and the cable/internet was out for 14 days but we made it thru!! The fence between us and the neighbors on our right fell down and a few shingles blew off. We were so lucky! There are alot of people that were not nearly as fortunate.
The top of a huge shady oak tree fell on my parents mobile home. It's still liveable but it made a big mess and they won't have their shade anymore! BUT WE MADE IT THRU!! I am so thankful!! Ike gave us some strong winds but not alot happened here w/ that storm. We still have a month and a half of hurricane season!! Here are some pictures of some of the damage and how we spent our time during the hurricane.
The fence was put up by our previous neighbor but when the insurance adjuster was out to assess the damage for them, he informed them that WE own half of that fence because we added fence to it, therefore we are responsible for half of the repairs. HUH???
Noah watching the rain and waiting for Granny and Paw Paw to come back from looking at the damage at their house. "PAW PAW!!!!"

How we tried to stay cool during the storm...in front of the open windows.

If you look closely, you can see a trailer back there under the tree.....

This is after the tree was removed....there was some damage to the porch also.

All that's left is the tree stump and a mess....

The boys were getting a little goofy because we would just ride around in the truck to get out of the heat.
They all three did really well with no electricity. (Noah was a trooper!!) But by the 14th day without cable, Jacob was having ESPN withdrawals!
All in all we faired well and I am thankful that all my family is safe!
Until next time............
